1. Man Who Dumped 100 Bed Bugs At Augusta City Center Office Pleads Not Guilty
Charles Manning from Augusta, Maine, appeared in Capitol Judicial Center courtroom this month to face charges of assault and obstructing government administration. Manning faces a $2,000 fine and one year in prison after he released more than 100 bed bugs in the Augusta City Centre Office. The defendant had visited the office earlier that day seeking assistance to find a new place to live while his own apartment was treated for a bed bug infestation. After being told no help was available, he returned later that day to exact his revenge. City hall was forced to close the office for several days while the bugs were removed. Manning has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

She said exterminators from the Burbank Public Works Department have been trying for some time to eradicate the pests using various techniques including sprays, deep cleans, and even using bedbug-sniffing dogs to locate the tiny creatures.
